Pompeii Project

Task Statement:

This Latin project is worth 30 points. You will be placed into groups of 3 or 4. Each group will receive one picture representing a work of art or an artifact from a location in Pompeii.

Your task is to search through the links provided below until you find your assigned artifact or work of art. When you have found your object, read through the description of the building in which it was found. Then write a report about that building.

Your report must include:

  1. the name of the building (2 points)
  2. the location of the building within the city of Pompeii (3 points)
  3. the owner of the building and how it was used (5 points)
  4. the date it was likely built (2 points)
  5. a description of at least two other pictures associated with that building (3 points)

Each group will present its findings to the whole class (10 points). For each presentation, the audience will be responsible for taking notes (5 points). Keep in mind that questions about this material may appear on future tests and quizzes.
