Current Projects

Art and Artifacts of Pompeii: Search through the houses of Pompeii looking for your assigned artifact or work of art. When you find the house in which your assigned piece was orginally discovered, write a report on the whole house.

Greek Gods and Zombies: A Halloween-themed writing assignment for intermediate students of Latin. Encourages students to write creatively in Latin. Students must understand the basic characteristics of the Olympian gods and they must be prepared to write dialogue in Latin.

A New Latin Play: Based on chapter 3 of Lingua Latina. Rewrite and embellish your scene to make a longer, funnier, more interesting Latin dialogue. Performance-based project with an emphasis on Latin pronunciation.

Greek Monster Pumpkins: Turn Halloween into a short and fun project turning pumpkins into Greek monsters.  Students decorate pumpkins and write an original story using the mythical creature as a character.  Appropriate for Latin I, but can be modified for more advanced students.
